This report came from Bandit 748. He has asked if we can tell him what he saw. I cannot. Here is his story:
I saw the strangest cloud that was outlined in hot pink, an inner outline of bright purple, in-lined again with a soft yellow. While I watched it the center (which was white up 'til then) turned a hot pink then back to the white. It seemed to be stationery and it disappeared in a 3 minute period. I have never seen a cloud like that in my life before! No cloud could dissipate that quickly! Can you fill me in on what I saw?? - Bandit748I saw something similar to this just prior to the quake in Washington State in (?)2001. I had observed several brightly colored balls of light. These UFOs were flashing as they moved through the clouds. The colors they displayed were nearly identical to Bandit's report. The light show had only lasted a few minutes.
I speculate that what he saw was similar. One possible explanation for what causes this phenomenon is referred to as earthlights. Scientists theorize that earthlights are balls of electrical plasma that occur over areas of high tectonic activity. These are known as geologically active zones, or faults. The San Andreas fault is one example.
These earthlights, are piezoelectric discharges that occur when tremendous, geomorphous blocks of material slide against each other. These blocks usually have a high concentration of quartzite in granite. The pressure is exerted by "gravity sliding." This results in the release of plasma-like energy, which forms a ball. These earthlights have been known to behave like UFOs and account for many identifiable NL class and DD class objects.
This is known to
occur before, during and after the movement of these tectonic plates as
they try to settle against each other. -Christopher Montgomery, researcher UFORC.COM
