Hi Everyone:
Just a couple of reminders about issues of importance, and one odd
occurrence to relate. The reminders are that the National Geographic
episode we filmed in June is now cut and "in the can," as the saying
goes. It's part of NG's "Is It Real?" series, and the segment is
titled "Ancient Astronauts." It features Erich Von Daniken, Zecharia
Sitchin, and the Starchild skull, among several other stalwarts in
that field. There is no confirmed air date yet, though it is sure to
be before the end of this year. I will of course notify this list as
soon as I'm made aware of that date.
Also, last Tuesday, the 26th, the manuscript for the new Starchild
book was finally sent from my agent to various editors who have
expressed an interested in seeing it. If all goes well, we could have
a publication deal perhaps as early as the end of October. I can say
with confidence that the manuscript and the proposal that went with
it were absolutely topflight. Amy was able to add several brilliant
flourishes to a DVD and a CD that should get the attention of anyone
who will take the time to load them into a player and view them.
Ironically, it will have taken longer to place the manuscript with an
agent and a publisher than it took to actually write it. I'm told this
is not uncommon in today's publishing marketplace.
The "odd" event I mentioned above was this: a couple of weeks ago
some of you might have noticed that the entire Starchild website
dropped off the internet for a while. We aren't sure how long, maybe
a day or two, but finally someone let us know it was not available.
We checked into the problem and found it wasn't with our server.
(That has been the case on a couple of other occasions.) This time
someone had "hacked" into the site with a stolen pass code (since
changed) and deliberately erased the entire site. Luckily it was all
saved and relatively easy to reinstall. However, it was a chilling
reminder that not everyone is as enthralled with the Starchild's
story as those who receive these updates.
For anyone with high level computer expertise, the IP address of the
person who did the wipeout is 71.139.11.242. If any of you know how
to trace this address to its source, feel free to give it a shot and
let us know your result. I think we'd all be interested to know who
might have done this dastardly deed.
Okay, I won't take up more of your time. When the air date for the NG
show is known, I'll let you know, and when we have a publisher and a
broadly general publication date, I'll let you know that too. Until
then, let's keep our fingers and toes crossed for success on both
counts. That might be a bit uncomfortable, but it might help, and as
always, we need all the help we can get.
