A sighting that is made by two or more eyewitnesses, which includes "any
sighting that is puzzling to the observer." defined by Dr. Condon. Screen
"only those cases reported by two or more stable observers, in which the reported behavior of the light, its configuration and overall trajectory are such to preclude
by a large margin explanation as simple misperception of natural objects"
defined by Dr. J. A. Hynek. This places very high demands on those
sightings for inclusion in our files.
CLOSE ENCOUNTERS OF THE FIRST KIND: CE-I
A UFO observed from a reasonable distance, which remains visible without
tangible evidence.
CLOSE ENCOUNTERS OF THE SECOND KIND: CE-II
A UFO object that is visible by one or more eyewitnesses and leaves a trace of its
apparition by some form of evidence, usually physical but can also be classified by
other variants within the uforc.com
CLOSE ENCOUNTERS OF THE THIRD KIND: CE-III
Close encounters of the third kind are to include a
visual identification of the UFO as well as the occupants / pilots of the
unknown aerial vehicle.
CLOSE ENCOUNTERS OF THE FOURTH KIND: CE-IV
Positive identification of UFO occupants as well as direct contact with pilot or crew of
unknown aerial aircraft (aka UFO)
