CHRIST,UFOs AND THE RAPTURE HYPOTHESIS
By Christopher Montgomery

The "rapture" is what most biblical scholars call the "second coming of Christ," where all will see His return riding a heavenly conveyance, what scholars like Barry Downing call the "cloud UFO." (Flying Saucers and the Resurrection Body in THE BIBLE & FLYING SAUCERS, by Barry H. Downing).

Are you walking "the Way?" Christ makes numerous mention of His return for the believer and followers of the way. The early apostles of Jesus Christ followed "The Way." They were aided by guidance from a power known as the "paraclete" in the Greek translation or more commonly known today as the "Holy Spirit." Paul outlined the manner in which we should walk the Way in Romans chapter 13. All roads lead to the second coming of Christ who some claim will be riding in a cloud-like UFO. Paul described our salvation as being "closer than was once believed."

Past research has revealed that there is a direct connection between the Holy Spirit and the UFO enigma of old, and more recently the walk of the Apostles as outlined in the New Testament of the Holy Bible. (Specifically, Acts 9:19) We can trace this unseen force that is known as the Holy Spirit throughout the HOLY BIBLE. The connotation suggests a guiding light for all of those who are followers of the Way.

The New Testament of the HOLY BIBLE makes numerous mention of the second coming of Christ. The followers of the Way believe that the path that leads to heaven is a direct result of following the teachings of Jesus Christ and adhering to the principles outlined in the New Testament of the HOLY BIBLE. They believe that Christ, or the "Good Shepherd" will someday return to reclaim His sheep in a miraculous event described in the "First Epistle of Paul the Apostle to the Thessalonians" (See I Thessalonians, Chapter 4:13-17 of the HOLY BIBLE).

Jesus said, "Come, follow me" and they came. He told the multitudes that "If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow Me." Then he said "For whoever is ashamed of Me and My words, of him the Son of Man will be ashamed when He comes in His own glory, and in His Father's, and of the Holy angels." (Luke, Chapter 9 verses 23-36).

Prior to the second coming was another event that was foretold by Christ in detail, and His prophecy was recorded throughout the four Gospels of the Holy Bible. This event is known as the rapture of the church. The rapture is an event where Christ will come "as a thief in the night" and will silently gather His followers from this earth. Here "the dead shall rise first and then the living will meet them in the air where they will be forever with the Lord."

The Second coming is distinctly different than this event called the "rapture of the church" that was also foretold by Christ. This event would precede the second coming of Christ when He shall come "with power and great glory" for all on Earth to see (Revelations Chapter 19 of the "New Testament" of the HOLY BIBLE). Most Bible scholars do not differentiate them as two separate events. The rapture is explained in greater detail in I Thessalonians and many believe that it is also called the "resurrection of the just" or the first resurrection, which is detailed in the book of "Luke" (See Luke chapter 14 verse 14, which is also referenced in "Revelations" chapter 20 in the writings of the "New Testament" of the HOLY BIBLE). The "Second Coming" is explored in greater detail in THE ARMAGEDDON CONSPIRACY

The followers of the Way have been awaiting Christ's return. The angels described Christ' return as "being in like manner" to the way in which he had departed from earth. This event is known as THE ASCENSION, where Jesus was "taken up" into a cloud. This 'cloud' is what many scholars like Downing believe to be a UFO. (Acts 1.8-12)
[13] "But I do not want you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning those who have fallen asleep, lest you sorrow as others who have no hope. [14] "For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so God will bring with Him those who sleep in Jesus. [15] "For this we say to you by the word of the Lord, that we who are alive and remain until the coming of the Lord will by no means precede those who are asleep. [16] "For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. [17] "Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord." - I Thessalonians 4 (OpCit)

In "Flying Saucers and Resurrection Of the Body," Barry Downing says that "The resurrection will take place either immediately after a person dies, or at the second coming of Christ, or perhaps a combination or variation of both times." In I Thessalonians it describes those who have died as those who "sleep." This would suggest that dying would be like falling asleep, where there wouldn't be any cognition of the passage of time. This also would mean that there wouldn't be any distinction between the times one had gone to sleep in death and that special time when God awakened that individual at the resurrection.

Downing goes on to say that "There are certainly enough passages in the Bible which indicate little if any delay between this life and the next so that it can be argued that life after death is immediate. There were only three days between the death and the Resurrection of Christ, whether or not this has any relevance here."

"Behold, I tell you a mystery: We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed- in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, ad the dead will be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed." - I Corinthians 15.50-51

The rapture of believers and followers of 'the Way' who have died or "those who sleep" in Jesus is described by Christ himself when he said "for the hour is coming, and now is, when the dead will hear the voice of the Son of God; and those who hear will live." (John 5:25) Will Christ's return for His followers be like this?

Alien contacts usually occur while the individual is isolated or alone at night, usually in a quiet place and while that individual is at various stages of sleep. These cases have been well documented by UFORC.COM. This evidence would suggest that many of the so-called alien contacts are actually being prepared for the time when Christ will return as "a thief in the night" (See also Matthew 24). Of the hundreds of close encounters with so-called "aliens" that I have read, the majority tells a tale of individual contact by beings that have spiritual as well as supernatural powers. This evidence far outweighs any possibility that they are extraterrestrial in that sense.

Abductions and their remnant elusive memories have opened all this for me; a confirmed atheist until I saw aliens float me out of my body, in my bed, at night. Then, I knew they were interested in an essence I never suspected I had a soul" - Paul Schroeder

The evidence suggests that these alleged UFOs are in fact created beings that serve a heavenly purpose. Their alien counterparts are actually angelic and/or demonic entities that use the UFO as their mode of conveyance between their heaven and our earth. (See reference #A)

"I was in this spiritual organization for 5 years and the teachers entities started to bother me and soon I was abducted by entities and they tried to derange me with channeling devices. Everything I would think about would channel like a medium channeling through spirits. I could not get out. This took place in CT. I lived there for 3 years I moved to California. Some of the entity/aliens assisted me in safety but mostly it was like entities wanted me to DIE because I was human and telepathic. I have gone on with penalties from entities for 5 years now since I was 22 years - Invisible Entities http://www.angelfire.com/wa2/UFO/ufo_reports/page11.html

Many of Christ's teachings concerning the the Way followed several miraculous events, like the feeding of five thousand people with only five loaves and two fishes. After everyone had their fill, Christ ordered the fragments gathered after the feast, which was said to have filled twelve baskets. Only a dynamic force active in the world could make that possible. I would speculate that this same force is at work in our world today, a force that I would directly associate with the UFO enigma.

THE TRANSFIGURATION AND THE CLOUD UFO
It was after the miracle of the five thousand, that Christ took Peter, John and James and went up to the Mount of Olive to pray. A cloud that some scholars associate with the UFO phenomenon did appear on that mountain. Some form of metaphysical transfiguration occurred to Christ while he was in the vicinity of this alleged cloud UFO. This event was recorded in the Gospels of the New Testament, and was witnessed by Peter, John and James. It is written that Jesus met with two Old Testament prophets of the HOLY BIBLE, Moses and Elijah. Both of these men knew the Holy Spirit of God and both had experienced numerous encounters with UFOs.
[28] "And it came to pass about eight days after these sayings, (Jesus) took Peter and John and James and went up into a mountain to pray. [29] "And as he prayed, the fashion of his countenance was altered, and his raiment was white and glistening. [30] "And, behold, there talked with him two men, which were Moses and Elias [31] "who appeared in glory, and spoke of his decease, which he should accomplish at Jerusalem. [32] "But Peter and they that were with him were heavy with sleep: and when they were awake, they saw his glory, and the two men that stood with him. [33] "And it came to pass, as they departed from him, Peter said unto Jesus, Master, it is good for us to be here: and let us make three tabernacles; one for thee, and one for Moses and one for Elias: not knowing what he said. [34] "While he thus spoke, there came a cloud, and overshadowed them: and they feared as they entered into the cloud. [35] "And there came a voice out of the cloud, saying, this is my beloved Son: hear him. [36] "And when the voice was past, Jesus was found alone. And they kept it close, and told no man in those days any of those things that they had seen." - The Gospel of Luke Chapter 9 verses 28-36
Moses is best known for the pillar of cloud UFO that was seen by day and is described in Exodus, chapter 14. The pillar of fire UFO, led the Israelites by night. This object had similar properties to those attributed to the UFO phenomenon. One example of this can be found in Exodus chapter 14, verse 20 where it says "it came between the camp of Egyptians and the camp of Israel; and it was a cloud and darkness to them, but it gave light by night to these: so that the one came not near the other al the night. See http://www.angelfire.com/wa/UFORC/page11.html

A UFO that was described by the HOLY BIBLE as a "Chariot of fire" had taken up Elijah. When the term "chariot of fire" is loosely translated, it means a flaming, fiery conveyance skipping through the sky. If we were to view their extravehicular activity today, we would call those "chariots of fire" an unidentified flying "And it came to pass, as they still went on, and talked, that, behold, there appeared a chariot of fire, and horses of fire, and parted them both asunder; and Elijah went up by a whirlwind into heaven. -II Kings chapter 2 verse 11. For a literal translation of chariots and horses of fire, please go http://www.angelfire.com/wa/UFORC/page10.html

The appearance of Elijah and Moses has special significance, because it is another piece of evidence that ties Christ into the UFO enigma, which is the indelible mark of a true prophet.
