Florida Power Outage Update: More UFOs, the Alleged Substation Fire and Still No Explanation for the Grid Failure
After IPUS issued a press release about UFO sightings connected to the massive power outage in south Florida on February 26, 2008, we received a number of additional UFO sighting reports. These included sightings of a huge triangular shaped craft some 200-300 feet long seen in Tallahassee, Pensacola, Homestead, White Springs, Jacksonville, Orlando, Daytona Beach and Miami.
Yesterday, February 27, 2008, Florida Power and Light blamed on the shutdown of the Turkey Point Nuclear Plant on a fire at a West Dade Substation. However, the Fox Channel had live video of the substation available during their morning broadcast and noted that there were no signs of any fire.
A Spokesperson for Florida Power and Light that appeared as a phone guest on the Fox News Channel refused to discuss the fire saying only that one switch malfunctioned and caused the Nuclear Plant to shut down power distribution. She said that the system performed exactly as it was designed to perform despite the fact that millions lost power. You may note that there have been many fires at many substations throughout the USA and these never (to our knowledge) caused the shutdown of a Nuclear Power Generating Plant.
It's still unclear how the alleged fire at the substation in question was actually handled. I have placed calls and sent emails to Florida Power and several fire departments asking if they responded to that situation. None of these inquiries have been answered as yet. Florida Power does admit that they still do not have any explanation for what actually brought down such a huge electrical grid all at one time.
Dick Criswell, who is heading up the investigation into the Florida power outage connection to UFO sightings throughout the State, was invited on to the Coast To Coast radio broadcast last night. Dick was on the show at around one o'clock in the morning and discussed the situation. Afterward, IPUS received many additional calls and email reports about triangular UFOs being spotted throughout Florida and as far north as Canada.
Dick received the first reports about the Florida UFOs while he was doing a guest spot on the Kevin Smith Show this past Monday. This was the night before the power outage.
***Kevin Smith of the Kevin Smith Show now invites anyone with information about the power outage or any UFO sightings to report to call into his show on Thursday (2/28/08). You can visit his website at www.KevinSmithShow.com for more information and phone numbers.
More Outages May Be On The Way
Florida Power and Light now says that there may be more power outages. Although they still have no explanation for the last outage, they claim that more may occur. All this in the wake of increased UFO activity in Florida and much of the Southeast.
Some of the Florida Sightings received by IPUS through Email (some spelling corrections made):
#1 My wife and I were out fishing this morning near Homestead and we both saw a large, glowing triangle. It looked like it was right over our heads. We have an electric boat motor and the thing didn't work. I had to row back into the dock. I saw the thing for a couple of minutes. I don't think it was military. it was glowing and really weird. Our dog was in the boat and kept barking at it. The last I saw it was headed over in the direction of the nuke plant.
Jim Jacobs, Homestead, FL
#2 I live in Orlando and was driving across to Daytona when this big ass thing came over my truck at around 4am. It was a triangle and had lights all over it. I heard you on a radio show last night and thought you would want to know about this. Some of my buddies in Daytona said they saw the thing earlier last night. What do you think it was?
Dave, Orlando, FL
#3 I heard that guy from White Springs talking about the UFO on that show you was on. I live about thirty minutes south of there and saw a weird thing early this morning. it was just a bright light that kept moving back and forth across the sky. Not a plane or helicopter. I see them all the time and know the difference. Anyone else reported anything like that?
Matt, Florida
#4 I was listening to you on that radio show about UFOs last night and damned if I didn't see one myself this morning. I live in Miami and never seen anything like this. I seen lights at night and stuff that could be planes. This was a bright light with a triangle inside. I saw it just after nine this morning and got my neighbor up to look at it. We both watched it for a few minutes and I saw other people out on the street looking at it. We live in a retirement community and anyone out at around 9am saw this thing. It didn't make noise and I don't think it was any kind of jet. Got any reports about this?
Harry, Miami
#5 Hey Dick, you really made me think. I listened to you last night. My son lives in Jacksonville, Florida. he called to say that something buzzed his house this morning around 5am. When he went outside. he saw a bright light... very big and nothing else. He doesn't know what it was. It was an airplane or chopper. We were laughing about how I just heard you talk about flying saucers and now he sees something weird right over his house. he said the house vibrated for a couple of minutes and that's what woke him up. What do you think?

Other Sightings Recently Reported To IPUS:
UK, Hertfordshire. Weather Conditions: Clear. Around 12AM, 1999 (give or take a year or two) I was out walking the dog, no one else about at that time. I had the urge to look up and to my left. I saw directly above a two-storey house about 40 metres away, a rough-edged ball of silvery-white light about the size of a small car. It seemed to be stationary when I first saw it but the second I lay eyes on it (as if it knew I saw it), it moved smoothly and silently upwards and to the north at quite a steep angle, but not vertical. Within what I think was one minute (I had honestly lost track of time), it had gone from 2 storeys right up into the sky until it looked like a star, plane or satelite slowly moving nw accross the sky until it faded from view (too small to see). I have excellent eyesight. Luckily it was a clear night. It did leave me feeling a bit spooked. My dog, wasnt at all bothered, but then again he was probably too busy sniffing the dirt... An informed friend of mind reckons it was an interdimensional being! To this day I dont know what I saw. - Daz, UK
USA- This happened about a year ago. I have never told anyone about this. However I keep thinking I should tell someone. This happened on about September 20. The time was about 1:20PM. I noted the time so it is within a few minutes. I went into the back yard to relax. It was a beautiful day. Not a cloud in the sky and crystal clear. I sat down into a chair and looking up into the sky, I noticed a red dot come out of the blue, and kind of dance around. It turned around and headed back into the blue and started to disappear. I been studying UFO's for 30 years and immediately knew I saw a UFO. Having never seen one before, I said, well you finally got your proof no matter how brief it was. Then I was amazed that it started to fade back into view, however there was now 2. Then there was 3, 4 , 5 etc. I was amazed. It was about 70 degrees up facing almost due north. They moved in a very jerky motion. I tried to count them, but because they were so jerky, I couldn't really tell what dot I was following. I finally counted a section, and projected it, and figured there was about 20. I was amazed they didn't crash into each other. I followed a couple just to see what they did. It was hard because they jerked around so much. I finally decided, they were not moving at all. They just appeared at the next place. So when they traveled in a straight line, they appeared to jerk from place to place, but in fact they kept appearing ahead of themselves. They kind of looked like a swarm of bees. And they were coming lower and lower. Finally they started going back up and began to fade into the blue. One kind of hung back, and didn't fade as much. He suddenly shot to the North West like a shooting star. It kind of left a hole. The sky was blue but his path was a blue gray color. The whole thing lasted about 4 or 5 minutes. Thanks for the opportunity to get this off my chest. I got your site from the Kevin Smith Show. Have a great day. - Dan, California
