Abstract: Although reports like these are extremely rare, we do see them on occasion. Time travel is a possibility that we should have to rule out. It would take a lot of time and leg work to follow on this report so suffice to say that we are posting this one for the record.

Eyewitness testimony: Two acquaintances from St. Olaf College and I one Saturday in the Autumn went downtown to make a few purchases. We were freshman and this was my first shopping experience off campus.

Our two acquaintances chose another store but I made my purchase from a store that sold pottery.

When I left the store I saw my friend who I hadn't heard from in a while on the sidewalk near the corner.

I waved and said hello, but as I walked to him, the sidewalk seemed changed and the stores were closer to the sidewalk than I remembered they were before I went into the store.

He made a few inquiries; I gave him my current residence address which then was a dormitory at St. Olaf which I assumed was near.

He informed me that it was the year that the Seattle Aquarium was built and NOT 1972.

He asserted that if I did not believe him that 1972 was then quite some YEARS ago, that I should see what was new in the stores. So he took me to a ladies fashion store, and it did seem to me that none of the styles shown were available then.

Except apparently in Seattle. I do not understand how Seattle could function 5 years in time ahead of St. Olaf.

How could it be possible that to Seattle it was 1977 but then to St. Olaf only was only 1972?

I was certainly happy to return to St. Olaf, only without my wool plaid blazer.

Although I had to see the registrar to re-enroll, I was happy to.

I just do not see how it might have been missed-- for Seattle & St. Olaf to have a difference of 5 years occur.
